Halloween into Your Content, Keep These in Mind

Halloween is coming; this is one of the heaviest wireless-calling days of the year, including the night for trick-or-treating. In the happy days, you should avoid the tragic thing happened in your family. You know, when you and your children sink into the joy of celebration, the safety problems are always left behind of your mind.

Here are some safety tips from the company to keep in mind before your children hit the streets in search of goodies.

1. Go mobile: Whether packing their personal cell or a temporary prepaid phone, ensure each costumed child parading the streets has a fully charged communication device.

2. Secure the line of communication: Preprogram contact information of parents, neighbors and emergency services into your and your child’s speed dial, and be sure you know how to access these numbers with ease.

3. Ensure accessibility: Use a belt clip or carrying case to make sure phones do not get tangled in costumes.

4. Establish boundaries: Families should have in place a familiarized route for children to follow. Mobile navigation tools can assist parents andkids in creating routes, and trick-or-treaters can reference maps throughout the evening.

Similarly, AT&T’s FamilyMap Viewer allows parents to easily and immediately locate a family member’s whereabouts from their mobile device orPC so they can keep a close watch.

5. Be in touch: Set up periodic alarms with Halloween-themed tones as a reminder for trick-or-treaters to text or call home between stops.

6. Keep ears on the ready: As part of a continued effort to remain aware of surroundings and keep open the lines of communication, trick-or-treaters should turn up their phone volume and listen for incoming call and message alerts.

A New look to Cleveland Launcher Driver 2009

Crown
At only a half millimeter in thickness, the new Launcher crown is the thinnest possible, moving every bit of potential weight low and deep to improve the center of gravity, optimize launch conditions and maximize distance.

Perimeter Sole Weighting
The horseshoe-shaped weight pad on the rear perimeter of the sole significantly improves launch conditions and stability on miss-hits by localizing weight low and deep, improving both MOI and center of gravity location.

Face
At an astounding 21% larger than both the original Launcher 460 and Launcher Comp, it is the largest Launcher face to date, allowing generous room for miss-hits resulting in maximum forgiveness.

Boasting low spin, a mid–trajectory and high MOI, it is the longest and straightest Launcher that Cleveland Golf has ever produced. Accidents on the golf course do happen

October 28, 2009 by admin

Golf is a magnificent game of concentration and skill, you need both to be working in harmony with each other in order to succeed and hit the ball exactly where you want it to go.  There are times though that even the most seasoned pro golfer can hit a poor shot and it can go wildly out of control into the rough, or worse.

Sometimes a miss-hit shot can cause damage to other people’s property such as a car parked in the club car park or the old favourite; a neighbouring greenhouse.  It’s no laughing matter though as many golfers can hit the ball high and long which gives the ball plenty of momentum to cause serious damage.

Another possibility is that you hit another golfer out on the course.  All golfers know the convention of waiting for the player/s on the hole in front of you to finish and vacate the green before you take your shot.  Unfortunately though with some courses doubling back on themselves and many holes packed into a small space you could hit or be hit by another golfer’s ball if you, or they, aren’t careful.

It used to be the case that you could warn others of a miss-hit shot by yelling the word “fore!” it isn’t a legal responsibility to warn other players but many players subscribe to the thought that it should be and so you will often hear players doing each other the common courtesy of yelling “fore” when hitting a poor shot.

If you are unlucky enough to strike a fellow golfer with your  ball there’s a good chance they will require medical attention and perhaps even a spell in hospital.  Medical bills will need paying by whoever was at fault.  In order to make sure that you are not left out of pocket as a result of this a specialist golf insurance policy may be the answer.

Golf Insurance may sound odd but you’d be surprised how expensive golfing could be without it.  Your clubs for instance can be costly to replace especially if you are an experienced golfer and have invested in some cases over £300 on a single club alone.

Golf Insurance can cover the medical costs that could happen as a result of a miss-hit golf ball, as well as any damage to homes and property if you’ve hit a bad shot.  There are many other instances where golf insurance can be useful as some policies cover golf buggies as well as cover for your golf clubs if they are stolen.

If you’re a golfer and you value your clubs and being able to be free of worries whilst you play golf then golf insurance is for you. You’ll be able to forget about any distracting thoughts and worries and concentrate on hitting the ball straight and true. Check out any 2 for 1 golf offers to save even more money too.

An In Depth Review of the Golf Ball Finder

October 27, 2009 by admin

If you love your time on the range but hate the fact that you waste so much of your game hunting for the ball, then you could benefit from a golf ball finder.  There are several such devices on the market, all designed to help you locate that ball, and they range in price depending on the level of technology used and the ease in which the ball is located.

One of the lower end examples of a golf ball finder are the golf finder glasses. These natty glasses will not cost you a huge amount of money, but they certainly help when the ball has gone into the rough.  Working on the principle of light filtering, they slip on like normal glasses or over prescription glasses.

It makes no difference to the performance, the principle being that the color of the lens blocks greens and browns, which are the most common foliage and rough colors, and sharpens the color of the ball against the now dull background, making it much easier to spot.

There isn’t really a down side to these glasses, as long as you remember this is the basic way of locating balls. There isn’t clever technology behind them, no wires and gizmos and gadgets, just color on color filtering; however, they are definitely worth a try.

If you feel that you want to spend more to get a more accurate higher level golf ball finder piece of kit, then the BallFinder ScoutÔ tops the market in terms of price and accuracy. This really is a clever gadget and has been proven to find a ball that has only 1% of its surface showing. This is just three little dimples on the surface of the ball, and that is pretty impressive when you think about it.

So just how does it work? Well, there is a massive amount of technology packed into this little box like device. It uses a video camera imaging and takes footage of up to 600 square foot in just over one second.  Then the even smarter imaging kicks in, and starts analyzing the footage on an individual pixel basis. If it identifies a ball then it will vibrate, and the screen will change to show the section of green that holds the ball.

Simply follow this on screen map and get your ball back in minutes, saving you the time and effort of searching out that lost ball.  The device comes with a belt clip, and the lovely manufacturers have thrown in an instructional DVD, which also features some excellent golfing tips from Professional golfer Nick Faldo.

In conclusion, both of these golf ball finder devices are excellent, but remember there are others out there so have a look around. It just comes down to how much money you want to spend, and whether you feel that you want simple color screening or more complex technology.  Both will make it much easier to speed up the search for the missing ball, but the more complex the device the more the cost, making it much longer before you see a return on your investment, unless you play a lot of golf.

A Review of MacGregor Golf Clubs

October 25, 2009 by admin

Once there were only a few manufacturers easily recognized throughout the sports equipment world. MacGregor was one. And although the company has had both good and bad times during its 108-year golf industry history, this new century looks very promising as the company positions itself to increase its tour presence with fully upgraded technology. An improved line of equipment is catching the eye of golfers every where

Driving with Familiarity and Innovation

The MacTec driver is an example of how MacGregor blends familiar golf club construction technology with company initiated innovation creating the most advanced driver in its hallowed history. The MacTec is designed employing a very light crown piece providing anb additional seven grams of weight to play with, a similar notion seen in all other composite-crown drivers.

More weight is moved lower and further back creating a lower gravity center that will produce lower spinning when the ball is in flight. To gain greater draw bias, four tungsten weights are added to the driver head increasing the MOI. Although this applied techniques is not a new one, the new driver shaft should set the club apart from many others.

Engineers claim the MacGregor Quadra Action shaft can store and transfer energy at an efficient manner producing excellent club head speed. Claims are that club head speed is increased three miles per hour. They say it will increase club head speed by as much as three miles per hour.

Improvements Get Better

The newer MT line is a call back to the type of clubs all those MacGregor purists who stayed loyal to the brand for many years. There is a bit of a technology carry over from the MacTec clubs employing Cup Face 360 technology that offers greater distance with that proverbial pinpoint accuracy MacGregor has experienced in the past. The Cup Face design has the club face welded apart from the rest of the head while allowing more weight moved to the outside perimeter of the head. This gets the driver to the full 460cc mark.

Up the Mass

All past drivers approached only 455cc. Some believe this is relatively little difference but the club is similar to fairway woods and hybrids. It features a sole that squarely rests the club each time plus the classic “pear” shape is attractively appealing.

The call back to a classic look with a new feel and function is a sure winner for brand loyalists. It combines many MacTec features including long shaft length but has a return to classic good looks. Tests reveal it works very well from the tee capable for moving left and right as well as positioned high and low as well.

Appealing to the Masses

This is a great driver choice for all player levels and especially if someone is looking to examine a new driver for a new season. Incidentally, giving the entire MT line might be an excellent choice convincing you to get a brand new set of clubs.

Great bargains are easily found for the savvy online buyer seeking a deal. Many Internet retailers offer special pricing for the MacGregor line of golf clubs.

Buying Golf Clothing

October 24, 2009 by admin

Anyone who has spent any time looking for golf clothing will know just how convenient it is to find what you are looking for on the internet.  There is a lot to be said for searching for what you want online.  It certainly beats trudging around lots of different stores; only to find that they do not actually stock what it is that you are after.

Finding golf clothing
, equipment or accessories on the web is so easy.  It won’t take you very long before you find an outlet that has got exactly what you want.  If you are still not keen on actually buying over the internet then you also have the option of just using your search engine to locate a store that is close to where you live.  Once you have done this you can simply call them or send an email to make sure that they have got the item you want.

If you are going to buy your golf clothes over the internet then you will find plenty of businesses to choose from.  As they specialise in golfing items they are going to be very knowledgeable.  Whatever it is that you want to purchase, they will know exactly what you are talking about.  You are going to find that there is an extensive selection of everything, whether it is headwear, wind wear, shoes or gloves.

When it comes to shopping for equipment, you will see that most websites offer many different categories including junior, senior, women’s and left-handed golf clubs.  Postage on golf clothes
or clubs will normally cost less than you think and many sites will offer free shipping on items that are over a certain (and realistic) amount.  Even if you do have to pay extra to have your item sent, it will usually still work out quite a lot cheaper than you would have paid in a high street shop.

A lot of golf clothing websites will have a ‘specials’ or ‘sale’ section.  This is always worth having a look at as you really can pick up some absolute bargains.  Don’t be fooled into thinking that it is only inferior products that end up here.

It is also surprising what you will come across in the way of accessories.  There are, of course, all of the usual types of practice equipment, caddy’s, balls and umbrellas, but there are some really handy gadgets as well.  It is worth making a mental note of this (if you have a friend or relative who likes golf) as there are a lot of things that would make great gifts.  Look out for different varieties of divot tools, hat clips and some great novelty items.  If you are looking for a gift for someone then another thing to consider would be a piece of equipment that is personalised.  Several online businesses offer this service to their customers and it can make your present a lot more special.

Once you have ‘taken the plunge’ and used the internet to buy your golf clothing or equipment you will wonder why you never thought of it before.

Ted Pilkington spends much of his spare time playing bad golf on good courses. For more information about golf clothing, please visit http://www.easytigergolf.co.uk/

One leg Pro tees off at St Andrews

Manuel de los Santos, the 25-year-old from the Dominican Republic, will tee off at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St Andrews. The game also includes superstars of the field, including Padraig Harrington and Ernie Els.

The only problem is the boy only has one leg. Manuel was a promising baseball player until, aged 18, he was struck by a car while riding his motorcycle. As the damage was so badly, Manuel has no choice but to accept the handicap that no other golfers want.

He said: “I hit four balls and I immediately felt good.

“I felt really well-balanced. I said, ‘That’s what I can do – let’s go’.” Manuel found he played golf better without the use of a prosthetic leg. Instead, he relied on his balance honed from his baseball days.

He also prefers to use crutches rather than ride a buggy between shots, saying: “I’m an athlete. That’s why I walk.”

In 2005 he joined the French Handigolf association and with a tough training schedule won the Spanish Open after just six months.

He’s now one of the top five disabled golfers in the world and second in the European Order of Merit.

Last year he started competing with the pros for the first time on the Allianz Tour, as a representative of Handigolf.

And today he’ll make his European Tour debut at The Alfred Dunhill Links Championship.

It’ll also be the first time he has played the world-famous Old Course, which plays host to the multi-million pound event along with nearby links Carnoustie and Kingsbarns. He said: “It is my first European Tour event and I am thrilled to be representing the partnership with Allianz at the Home of Golf.

“It is a dream for me to play at the Old Course. So many greats of the game have played here and it has a special place in the heart of golfers.

“The partnership is helping people learn about the origins of the sport. That’s something I totally support.”
